Helping Good Work Get Done
Grant Consulting for Mission-Driven Nonprofits & Small Businesses
At Do Good Grants Co., we help small to mid-size organizations find the right funding opportunities, write stronger grant proposals, and build simple, sustainable grant processes, without the overwhelm.
If grants feel confusing, time-consuming, or like something you should be doing but don’t know where to begin, you’re in the right place.
Why This Work Matters.
Do Good Grants Co. exists for one simple reason:
Important work deserves support, and accessing funding shouldn’t be a barrier to impact.
If any of these sounds familiar, you’re not alone:
You’re doing important work, but funding always feels just out of reach
Grants seem complicated, competitive, or intimidating
You don’t have a dedicated grants person (and probably don’t have time to become one)
You’ve tried before…and didn’t get funded
You know funding could unlock more impact, if you could just get organized
We work with organizations that care deeply about their communities and causes and want grant support that feels clear, supportive, and doable, not stressful or salesy.
Hi I’m Dan Krefft, MBA
My Why
I do this work because community-based nonprofits and small organizations are doing some of the most important work out there, often with limited staff, limited time, and far too much pressure. I believe funding should support that work, not become another source of stress.
My background spans 15+ years in writing, research, proposal development, and project management, including leading complex RFP processes and contributing to $100M+ in funded contracts and proposals. Along the way, I’ve learned how to translate big ideas, program requirements, and real-world impact into clear, compelling cases for support, the same skills that make strong grant proposals work.
But just as important as experience is how I show up. I bring a calm, collaborative, and people-first approach rooted in empathy, clear communication, and respect for the realities of burnout and bootstrapping that many nonprofits and small businesses face. I believe grants are strongest when the process supports the people doing the work, not when it drains them.
Mental health, travel & tourism, and community well-being aren’t side interests for me; they shape how I partner with clients and why I care so deeply about helping good work get done.

In Their Own Words
Clear boundaries lead to better partnerships.
We don’t offer percentage-based or commission-grant fees, guaranteed funding, or last-minute “Hail Mary” submissions. I also don’t provide financial accounting or post-award compliance unless it’s scoped separately. What I do offer is thoughtful strategy, ethical grant support, and work I can stand behind, so expectations are clear, collaboration is smooth, and the focus stays on doing good work well..”

Your Questions, Answered
Do you guarantee funding?
No, and anyone who does is being dishonest. What we do guarantee is thoughtful strategy, strong writing, and a process that positions you well with funders.
Do you work with new or small nonprofits?
Yes. Especially organizations without dedicated grants staff who need clarity and support.
Can I pay by invoice?
Absolutely. Once the scope is agreed upon, we issue an invoice detailing milestones and due dates. Payments can be made via bank transfer or the method of your choice within the stated terms. We use flat, ethical pricing, never commission-based or percentage-of-award fees.
What if we’re not “grant ready”?
That’s okay. Part of my role is helping you get there.
Can you work with our existing development team or agency?
Absolutely. I’m happy to complement what’s already working.
